2.3 Meal and Nutrition Data
When you use the food scanning feature, we collect:
- Food photographs (stored in Firebase Cloud Storage)
- Nutritional estimates generated by AI analysis (calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat)
- Food item names and portion sizes
- Meal types (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack)
- Timestamps of when meals were logged
Important: When you use the food recognition feature, your food images are sent to OpenAI's servers for AI analysis. This is necessary for the Service to function. Please see Section 5 (Third-Party Services) for more information.
2.4 Usage and Technical Information
We automatically collect certain information when you use the Service:
- Device information (device type, operating system, browser type)
- Usage patterns and interactions with the Service
- IP address and general location information
- App performance and error logs
- Local storage data (tutorial completion status, preferences)
2.5 Analytics Data
We use Firebase Analytics to collect aggregated, anonymized usage statistics to help us improve the Service. This data does not personally identify you.
3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is stored using Firebase services provided by Google Cloud Platform:
- Firebase Authentication: Stores your account credentials (email and encrypted password)

- Cloud Storage: Stores your food photographs in a secure, private storage bucket
- Firebase Analytics: Stores aggregated, anonymized usage analytics

5.1 Firebase (Google Cloud Platform)

5.2 OpenAI

Important: By using the food recognition feature, you consent to the transmission of your food images to OpenAI's servers. We do not control how OpenAI uses or stores your images beyond what is necessary for the Service to function.
5.3 Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: With third-party service providers (Firebase, OpenAI) who perform services on our behalf

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time through the Service settings. When you delete your account:
- Your account credentials will be deleted
- Your profile information will be deleted
- Your meal logs and nutritional data will be deleted
- Your food photographs will be deleted from our storage
- Some information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., aggregated analytics data)
6.4 Data Portability
You can request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format by contacting us at the email address provided in Section 12 (Contact Information).
6.5 Opt-Out Rights
You can opt out of certain data collection by:
- Not using the food recognition feature (though this will limit Service functionality)

7. Data Retention

- Active Accounts: We retain your data while your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter
- Deleted Accounts: When you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes
- Analytics Data: Aggregated, anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely

8. Children's Privacy
